Be a Community Dancer
Dance in the next Dancing Stars.
Each year a handful of local celebrities are paired with a professional from Arthur Murray, spend ten weeks learning a routine, and perform it on the Lewis Auditorium stage. No dance experience is needed. Most arrive with none.
Call 904-824-0664 or email sacspa@gmail.com if you would like to talk it through before you commit.
What you are taking on
Learn it, raise for it, perform it.
Arthur Murray St. Augustine and Arthur Murray Jacksonville provide the instruction. Everything else is you and your network.
Learn a dance
You are assigned a professional instructor who choreographs the routine, selects the music, and teaches it to you over ten weeks of rehearsals.
Raise money
Dancers use their social and professional networks to fundraise through votes, ticket sales and sponsorships. Every vote is a donation to SACSPA.
Perform it
You perform your routine live at Lewis Auditorium, in front of a full house, on show night.
How you are judged
Two categories, decided two different ways.
Decided at the event by the panel.
The judges score the routine you spent ten weeks learning. It is the only award your fundraising cannot influence.
Decided by votes and dollars raised.
Whoever raises the most through People’s Choice voting takes it. This is the half of the result that is in your hands from day one.

Where the money goes.
The night raises money four ways: ticket sales, People’s Choice voting, sponsorships, and lobby activities. All of it benefits St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts, a 501(c)(3) that provides performing arts instruction to local children in need and to the elderly.
Over the years people of all ages and backgrounds have been served through free music programs, concerts, summer camps and private instruction.
